Florac is in the Parc National de Cevennes, in the Massif Central, in the Lozère department of Languedoc-Roussillon.

Florac is a pretty village in an enviable position in the Tarnon river valley, with some impressive houses.

The village spreads out along the river and up the hillside and makes for a pleasant stop before continuing on to the fine views from Mont Aigoual further south.
