Gardens at Giverny, Normandie - a guide
Visitez Giverny gites : hotels : location des voitures | Decouvrir Normandy
Giverny is found half way between Paris and the sea at Honfleur.
Monet died at Giverny in 1926, having lived there for 43 years, having forever immortalised the gardens in some of his most famous paintings. The gardens are still much as they were 100 years ago, and it is impossible to visit without the gardens evoking the memory of the paintings.
Because of this, for lovers of Monet a visit to the gardens at Giverny is as much a pilgrimage as a 'garden visit', an insight into the life and surroundings of Monet himself.
There is something different to see each time and each season that you visit the gardens, from the tulips and daffodils of spring to the dahlias of early autumn, and a whole range in between.
