La-Garde-Guerin is in the Parc National de Cevennes, in the Lozère department of Languedoc-Roussillon, in the Massif central.

La-Garde-Guerin is one of several small attractive villages to discover in the Cevennes National Parc, and stands on a rocky plateau in a beautiful location.

Found next to the gorges de Chassezac, the fortified village contains narrow, cobbled streets lined with sturdy medieval houses.

The square Tour de la Garde-Guerin dates from the 12th century and stands in one corner of the fortifications, and the roman-style church of Saint-Michael is small but perfectly formed.
