Le Bugue, Dordogne guide de voyage

Visitez Le Bugue gites : hotels : location des voitures | Decouvrir Dordogne

Le Bugue is a small market town on the Vezere River, between Limeuil (where the Dordogne meets the Vezere), and Les Eyzies de Tayac.

Le Bugue makes a good place to stay to explore the area. It has avoided some of the excesses of tourism of Les Eyzies and Sarlat, and there are plenty of narrow winding streets and some beautiful traditional houses to see.

There is a very popular Aquarium (Aquarium du Perigord Noir) at Le Bugue if you want to escape from prehistoric man for a short while - he does tend to rather over-dominate the whole Vezere Valley!

Also popular is the Village de Bournat, a recreation of a prehistoric village, where you can watch traditional crafts being practiced.

There are several caves in the region, and you can see wild boars at nearby Les Sangliers de Mortemart. You can try sanglier at many of the restaurants in the region.
