Meze, Languedoc-Roussillon, guide de voyage
Visitez Meze: gites : hotels : location des voitures | Decouvrir Languedoc
Long an ancient settlement, Meze is now one of the centres for oysters in the Etang de Thau.
Part of the ancient ramparts can be seen along the etang. Other points of interest are the Chateau de Girard, the Chapel of Penitents (photo below) and the churches of St Jean de la Garrigue and St Hilaire.
The town and fishing port itself is also attractive, with narrow streets to explore in the old town (especially the attractive vaulted passageway) and a pretty harbour.
